Our Beliefs
A summary of the core doctrines we affirm, adapted from the Baptist Faith and Message.
The Scriptures
The Holy Bible is God's revelation of Himself to man, a perfect treasure of divine instruction, having God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth without any mixture of error for its matter.
God
There is one and only one living and true God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit— each with distinct personal attributes, without division of nature or being.
God the Father
God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe and is Father in truth to those who, through faith in Jesus Christ, become His children.
God the Son
Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; through His sinless life and substitutionary death He provided redemption from sin.
God the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit exalts Christ, convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and empowers believers and churches for worship, evangelism, and service.
Man
Man is created in God's image yet sinned against God, bringing sin into the human race. Every person possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Salvation
Salvation is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In its broadest sense it includes regeneration, sanctification, and glorification.
God's Purpose of Grace
All true believers endure to the end and are kept by the power of God unto salvation.
The Church
A New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Baptism & the Lord's Supper
Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and an act of obedience symbolizing union with Christ. The Lord's Supper memorializes Christ's death and anticipates His return.
The Lord's Day
The first day of the week commemorates Christ's resurrection and is to be devoted to worship and spiritual devotion.
Last Things
God will bring all things to their appropriate end. Christ will return personally and visibly to judge the world in righteousness; the righteous dwell forever with the Lord.
Evangelism & Missions
It is the duty and privilege of every follower of Christ and every church to make disciples of all nations.
